the imagery analyzation of " a feather in the wind"

A feather in the wind

 I watch the feather float
Gently on the wind
I saw the feather lean
Softly on the wind

I felt the feather fall
Soundlessly
The wind does too
Soundlessly

Silence and feather in the ground
At my feet
Stillness and my heart beating in
My chest the only echo

Quiet contemplation and my thought
Like the feather
Fall to the ground
And i know peace

DISCUSSION

The imagery
THE FEATHER = HUMAN

I watch the feather float
Gently on the wind
I saw the feather lean
Softly on the wind

As written in this first part, the writer sees a feather that is moving in the air gently, the writer wants to express thet the writer feels the peace by watching its ( feather ) movement.

I felt the feather fall
Soundlessly
The wind does too
Soundlessly

In the second part the writer continues the description about the feather that the motion is slowly reduced. And the writer plays with a word “soundlessly”because the writer wants to describe that the falling feather and the wind are covered by silence. It looks like the writer writes this part or even the whole poem by imagining as if the writer is in a very silent place, like in a graveyard for example. Or even the writer imagines the silence inside the crypt.

Silence and feather in the ground
At my feet
Stillness and my heart beating in
My chest the only echo

In this part for the first line the writer implies that the feather is no longer moving. By seeing that, the writer implied thet the silence was being strengthened in the place. And in the 2nd  – the 4th line the writer feels the peace like what surrounds the feather that the writer had imagined. And in this part the writer begins to link between the movements of the feather beginning from when it was blown away by the wind until  it felt to the ground and didn’t move anymore and the writer’s life. Having got the inspiration the writer created the last part of this poem.

Quiet contemplation and my thought
Like the feather
Fall to the ground
And i know peace

In this part the writer uses figure of speech (simile) to compare two things different, between ”the feather” and “the thought” and it was linked by” like”.

My thought, like the feather
The writer imples that there is similarity between ”the feather” and “the thought”
The similarity is that those two different things will fall down to the ground and they will be burried. Both of the human body or human thought and the unmoving feather, and then peace will break out as in the last line. And i know peace

CONCLUSION

When the writer was writing this poem, the writer wanted to share what the writer felt at that time to the readers. As like in the poem the writer described the falling feather as a symbol of the writer’s life that will be ended soon. The only thing that could be done is nothing but surrender the whole life to god.
By reading this poem, we can also know the “P” from what is written on most epitaph R.I.P (rest in peace). And thet is the word that can represent the existence of this poem (PEACE)  .
